On February 23, the WBSC will be partnering with Ptarmigan Nordic Ski Club and Beyond Adventures to host the first Glide and Stride Try it Event in conjunction with the Regional Municipalities WinterPLAY Event.

The event will be held at the Birchwood Trails Doug Barnes Cabin and is open to all ages and abilities. The event will start with the opportunity to try cross country skiing facilitated by Ptarmigan Nordic Ski Club, followed by the opportunity to try snowshoeing supported with rentals from Beyond Adventures. Lastly the day will conclude with a fun all ages Duathlon Cross Country Ski/Snowshoe relay/race. You can complete the 1.5km ski and 500m snowshoe on your own or a team of two. 

There is no cost to participate, and Ptarmigan Nordic Ski Club and Beyond Adventures is offering discounted equipment rentals if you do not have your own equipment.

$10 for Cross Country Ski

$5 for Snowshoes

In between events there will be door prizes and food for purchase.

10:30am - On site Registration/Equipment Pick up.

11:00- Cross Country Ski Try It

12:00pm - Snowshoe Try It

1:00pm - Duathlon Relay
