on Northern Trailblazers Basketball
Who - Who are they? The Northern Trailblazers are a premier basketball company in Fort McMurray whose mission statement is: “To facilitate a premier basketball community in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo while promoting a fun and competitive environment that develops hard-working athletes for sport and for life. Our goal as a club is to prepare our athletes to become leaders in their community. We believe that lessons learned through athletics can translate to other areas of life and can enhance personal experiences. Creating memories that build character and develop confidence in self.”
Why - Why you should sign up. Basketball is a great team sport for children to learn many life lessons. Working together as teammates and developing communication and leadership skills that will translate to every day life is super valuable for these kids. There is a reason that Basketball is one of the fastest growing sports in Canada. With the Toronto Raptors winning the 2019 NBA Championship many kids are inspired to lace up the sneakers and hit the court.
What - What is Northern Trailblazers Basketball? Northern Trailblazers help kids develop their basketball skills with their leagues, camps and programs where they provide children a competitive environment. Basketball is a great team sport for children to learn many life lessons. Working together as teammates and developing communication and leadership skills that will translate to every day life is super valuable for these kids.
Where – Where you can sign up. You can up sign up on their website https://northerntrailblazers.com/. There Gym locations are: St Kateri Catholic School and Elsie Yanik Catholic School.
When? When can I play? Their spring 2022 season will run from April 25th until the last week of June. They have Junior Programs for “Grasshoppers” (Born 2017/19) “Juniors” (Born 2015/16) and also house leagues for “Tyke” (Born 2013/14), “Mini” (Born 2011/12) “Bantam” (Born 2009-10), “Midget” (Born 2007-08). They also have Summer Day Camps that are co-ed and run from Monday-Friday from 8AM-4PM.
