Accessible Sport Workshop
Presenter: John Clubb - Soccability Canada
Description: This training is designed to support coaches in creating safe, accessible, and meaningful sport experiences for all athletes. It is not about teaching the technical skills of soccer (or any specific sport). Instead, the focus is on understanding how to work effectively with children and youth who have diverse needs — including physical disabilities, developmental differences, sensory challenges, ADHD, autism, cerebral palsy, and more.

John Clubb
Western Canada Coordinator, Soccability Canada
Leading Soccability programs in Western Canada, John Clubb has been a pillar in Canadian grassroots soccer for over a decade. With experience as the Grassroots Director for Alberta Soccer, John founded the Middlesbrough FC Soccability program in England's northeast before bringing his expertise to Canada.
- Technical Director at Eastside Memorial FC: Oversees their own Soccability program in Calgary.
- Coaching Qualifications: Holds a Canada A License, UEFA B License, an MSc in Applied Sport Psychology, and a National Diploma in Sport Science and Disability.
- Advocate for Inclusive Sports: Passionate about expanding accessible soccer programs across Western Canada.
When he's not on the soccer field, John is a high-level Ironman competitor, often found pushing his limits on his bike.

Sven Bornemann
Strength and Conditioning Coach | CSI Pacific | Canada Snowboard
Sven Bornemann is a Strength and Conditioning Coach with 10 years of experience working with elite athletes, currently supporting the Canadian Snowboard National Team. With a background in Athletic Therapy from Camosun College and a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Miami, Sven specializes in optimizing performance, injury prevention, and recovery for winter sport athletes.
At the Canadian Sport Institute Pacific (CSI-Pacific), Sven collaborates with coaches across Slopestyle, Boardercross, Para Snowboard, and Halfpipe. As acting IST Lead for the Slopestyle discipline for the 2023/24 season, he implemented physical preparation plans for international training camps and competitions, ensuring athletes were primed for peak performance. He provides Strength and Conditioning programming for both centralized and decentralized athletes, regularly adjusting plans based on progress.
A key member of the Canada Snowboard Health and Athletic Performance team, Sven works alongside nutritionists, mental performance specialists, and physiotherapists to create holistic pathways for athlete success. He also leads rehabilitation and return-to-sport plans, integrating data-driven tools like force plate testing to refine training and recovery protocols.
Outside of coaching, Sven enjoys competing in beach volleyball, furthering his passion for sports and performance.
